2-minute video — with Dr. Daniel BE
As men, we are not often invited to open up and share our experiences and feelings with our buddies.
Our lives get filled with work and everyday routines, and who doesn’t love to just zone out in front of Netflix after a long day? We might get together with our buddies for a workout, an adventure, to have beers, or to help each other out with projects. Still, it’s not a common part of our culture that men use that time to connect with genuine sincerity and some emotional vulnerability.
Turning to work or projects that distract you from difficult feelings can provide temporary relief, but it’s not a solution. It’s denial AND AVOIDANCE.
This creates emotional isolation, and anyone trying to puzzle out their deeper, more personal challenges and issues on their own will struggle.
Guys, therapy can help.
In individual work and in my men’s groups, we train you in the skills you need to open up and connect genuinely and learn the tangible tools you need to understand and overcome the hurdles you face, from relationships to personal goals to professional achievements.
