Daniel BE, Ph.D.
Licensed Psychologist
A Practical, Direct, Skilled Guide
Dr. Daniel BE
LICENSED PSYCHOLOGIST
Dr. BE connects well with people who you might not traditionally associate with counseling services to guide them through their struggles and life challenges. That drive to “have it all” that so many professionals demonstrate can also make it hard to ask for help at times when it’s needed most. With both a unique “no BS” attitude and a demeanor that’s connectable, Dr. BE has become a valuable asset for clients who typically didn’t expect to find therapy beneficial.
Therapy for people who “don’t need therapy.”
Dr. Daniel BE breaks the mold of what most people picture as a typical psychologist, and brings a unique specialty and style to BEing There Counseling through both individual and group therapy.
It stems from his life-experience before pursuing his career in psychology. Daniel came to psychology first as a wilderness survival instructor, with the challenges inherent in dealing with nature on its own terms. He was also a professional ski patroller, and an HVAC installer. Daniel has a pragmatic, real-life perspective rarely found in therapeutic circles. These pursuits were just a few of the ways Daniel discovered his talent and desire to help guide men and women through the challenges they face in their own lives, and led him to pursue his degree and license in psychology.
After completing his Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Colorado, Daniel focused his career on helping military veterans deal with trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, and the effects that severe trauma have on their important relationships. After working for several years at the VA Medical Center in Orlando, Florida, Daniel returned to his hometown in 2015 to provide psychological services at the VA Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Daniel’s specialties, training, and certifications include:
- Facility-wide Trainer for Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior
- Psychologist in Hospice Care, Mental Health Clinic, and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder Clinical Team
- Mental Health Crisis On-call Psychologist
- Depression Treatment Group
- Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom (OIF/OEF) Combat PTSD Group
- Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD
- Cognitive Behavioral therapy for Depression
- Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy
While his résumé is extensive, Daniel’s therapeutic style and ability to connect with people who don’t typically see themselves as needing therapy is what makes him such a valued asset to his clients at BEing There Counseling. He practices what he preaches, and personally models the connection, strength, and authenticity that can be gained through personal development work.
We know you have a lot on your plate, so we invite you to request a consultation with Daniel to discuss your needs and how he can help.
